Remembrance
In honour of Remembrance Day, art students from all year groups collaborated to create this stunning poppy display. Each student crafted a unique poppy inspired by the powerful words in the poem 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae. Students were asked to discuss with their families if any of their family members had served in any conflict across the world so that they could add their names to their poppies and share stories in class. Over the past week, we have heard stories of incredible bravery and commitment. The children are quite rightly incredibly proud of their family members, from great grandparents who survived the holocaust in concentration camps, to aunts and uncles currently serving in Ukraine and around the world.
The display serves as both a visual tribute and a poignant reminder of their bravery and sacrifice. This piece brings the school community together in reflection and in readiness to honour those who have fallen in past and present conflicts on Remembrance Day
