Admissions Policy Consultation
Please note that the school proposes the following changes for the Years 7 to 11 Admissions Policy:
1. The categories for Baptised Catholic children with exceptional social or medical needs, Baptised Catholic children of staff and Baptised Catholic siblings of children already at St Paul’s have moved from being oversubscription criteria 2, 3, and 4 in the 2025/2026 policy to sub-categories for every oversubscription criterion in the 2026/2027 policy. This brings St Paul’s policy in line with Diocese model policies.
2. The offer of 210 places (less those with EHCPs) using the oversubscription criteria will reduce to 170 places (less those with EHCPs). Following this up to 40 places will be offered to practicing Catholic children from four feeder schools who were not allocated places in the initial offer of 170 places. The detail of this is in the policy.
3. Amendments to definitions in the ‘notes’ section, in line with the diocesan model policy.
